Leave Your Legacy While You Learn to Type
Do you ever think about sitting down and typing stories about your life? I cornered my mother the other day and started asking her questions about her early married life and got some fascinating information from her that I never knew, even after all these years.
It got me thinking that perhaps a good typing exercise would be to sit down and record some of my life events for posterity. With computers, hard drives, thumb drives, writable CD's, a person could type their whole life history and store it for others to read years down the line. I'm sure my children would like to know how I felt when they were born, or when they accomplished an important goal in their life. How about my feelings when I was told by the doctor that I had cancer? I've never written any of that experience down for my family to read some day.
What a great reason to practice your typing skills, and to better your typing skills. Just sit down and let it fly.

Typing Games for Children
In this age of video games, advanced video games, and even more advanced video games, the computer and keyboard have become something everyone needs to use. Just like many other learning activities, children often learn things faster than adults, and just try and keep up with a kid who really knows how to use his XBox controls! Their hand and eye coordination is excellent and they have no fear. Instead of letting them just play games, get them a game that teaches them to type. It's a skill that everyone needs and one that kids can learn quickly.
I learned to type in the sixth grade. I bought an 'electric typewriter" and started typing my homework. It was slow at first, but I just kept going and pretty soon I was typing everything.
An added benefit from typing everything was that I learned the material I was typing about much easier and more thoroughly. If I had to type a science report, typing that material really helped me learn what the content contained. By the time I was in eighth grade I was typing 80 words per minute and I can still go at that rate to this day. My kids can't even type fast than that!
Put those little fingers and brains to good use and teach your children to type. It's becoming a universal skill that benefits everyone. The earlier the better. I saw a pretty good website called www.freetypinggames.net. Go and see if there's something for those little fingers aroud your house.

Type Faster Using Free Typing Games
Ready to give up on learning to type? Hold on, you've mastered tougher things than typing before. Like anything else, practice makes perfect, and with a little more practice you'll be typing like a professional in no time. Why not make it fun? Are you just sitting in front of your screen, hands poised on keyboard, thinking the keyboard letter placement as a picture in your mind, and really wanting to stop and get something to eat? Try making it fun. We all like fun, so make learning to type fun for yourself. First, make sure your surroundings and learning environment are comfortable and fun. Get something to drink, a soda, chocolate milk, whatever you like. If you like snacks, maybe a little bowl of pretzels on the desk will help. Is your chair comfortable? Remember, you're learning to type not testing your pain tolerance for an uncomfortable chair. What about your clothes? Are you pants too tight and making you uncomfortable? Go put on those lounge pants and then come back comfortable and ready to have some fun learning to type. Once your surroundings are a place you want to be, you will be much more inclined to want to stay there and practice. A hard, cold, dark environment won't be a place you'll want to be for your favorite activity, let along a place you want to be to learn to type. Now that you're comfy, let's make it a game.
